   Congratulations! Here we are! We made it to 2023. In many ways, especially for us here at Judson Baptist Church, 2022 was a successful year. We have impacted more people with the gospel this year, especially in the months of November and December, than we have in recent memory. That is good news about the “greatest story ever told.”

  We have now walked through the doorway of new opportunities that God has in store for us. It truly excites me as to what this year holds for us. There is no group of people that I would rather greet this year with than with you- Judson Missionary Baptist Church.

  I want to encourage and challenge all of us to set godly goals with a kingdom focus this year by asking ourselves one clear and concise question: “What is it that I could accomplish for the kingdom of God that would most please Jesus and allow Him to receive the greatest glory from my life this year?” I challenge us this first month of the new year to take this new year and make it count for Jesus. Live your life with intentional determination to the gospel of Jesus. This is the same goal the apostle Paul set for himself and others:

  “Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

Here is a three-fold practice that I wish to give to us to live by in this New Year:
1. Seek and trust the Lord with all your being (Proverbs 3:5-6).
2. Set Godly goals for your life grounded with a kingdom focus (Colossians 3:23).
3. Ask for God to reveal His will to you and be prepared for the answer (Romans 8:28).
