...reveals itself by being willing to do whatever God says.

Life brings with it many obstacles (hindrances) which God allows. But why? These ‘tests’ are meant to reveal where our hearts are and who has them [Jam 2:3-4]. God also allows these ‘tests’ in order that we might choose to do what is ‘right.’ And what is right? Sometimes our ‘right’ is not God’s ‘right.’ God’s ‘right’ is righteousness! Through the trials and tests in life, God both refines and reinforces the faith which He has granted to us [Heb 12:2].

We see in Boaz and Ruth – true virtue and godly character. Both chose to live lives of integrity –they were righteous! Ruth was willing to sacrifice everything in order to follow Naomi wherever she went. She also learned to follow the God of Naomi and in so doing, God became her God. Boaz was willing to follow his God no matter what it cost him.

One of the most important aspects of having an ‘Excellent Faith’ is a willingness to sacrifice one’s own will for the sake of the One to whom faith is even possible.
